Full description

This is the easiest way to see the High Atlas if you only have one free day in Marrakech. You leave the city behind within twenty minutes and climb into the mountains along the Ourika road, stopping at the Kik plateau viewpoint where the whole range lines up in front of you.

The route links three valleys — Moulay Brahim with its cliff-hanging village, Asni with its Saturday market and Imlil at the foot of Mount Toubkal. Along the way you visit a women's argan oil cooperative and are invited into a Berber home for mint tea and bread with olive oil and honey.

In Imlil there is time for an easy one-hour guided walk through walnut orchards and terraced fields before a relaxed lunch on a terrace over the river. A camel ride can be added on the way back for a few euros.

Can we combine it with the Agafay desert?

Yes — many guests do the valleys in the morning and an Agafay sunset dinner the next evening. We can plan both.
