On the private evening the vehicle belongs to your booking. You are collected at your hotel or riad, taken out, and brought back — with no other pickups attached to your journey and no group timetable on the road. Where a riad address is not accessible to a vehicle, we agree the nearest reachable meeting point with you in advance.

Who benefits most from a private vehicle
Couples who want the evening to feel like their own from the door, not from the camp gate. The drive is a real part of the experience, and on a shared run it is the part you share most.
Families with young children. Being able to leave when your children are ready and come back when they are tired, without waiting on other passengers, is usually the deciding factor — not comfort.
Small groups travelling together. If there are four or six of you, you already fill a vehicle; travelling as one group from the hotel door is often the more natural way to run the night.
Travellers staying in riads deep in the medina, or outside the centre. A private booking makes the meeting point a conversation we have with you in advance rather than a shared-shuttle constraint.
The evening itself: dinner, music and the fire show
Once you arrive, the private evening is a camp evening. Dinner is Moroccan and served at the camp; we do not print a fixed menu because camps change what they cook with the season. Live Moroccan music runs during the evening, and there is a fire show after dinner.
Then you are driven back to Marrakech in the same vehicle that brought you. There is no shuttle to wait for and no fixed departure imposed on your group by other bookings.
Bring a warm layer. Desert evenings are cold once the sun goes down, in every season.
When the standard evening is the better-value choice
If you are one or two people and the price difference matters, take the standard evening. You get the same desert, the same camp dinner and a genuinely dark site for €33.25 per person direct, and the money saved is roughly the cost of another full day out of Marrakech.
It is also the better fit if your priority is the sky rather than a programme. The standard evening is deliberately built around low light and time outside; the private evening is built around dinner with music and a fire show.
Solo travellers almost always want the standard evening: a private vehicle for one person is an expensive way to travel forty-something kilometres.
When private transport is worth paying more for
Pay the difference when the journey is the friction: young children, a group that wants to stay together, an awkward pickup address, a late arrival into Marrakech, or an evening you want to control rather than fit into.
Pay it, too, when the music and the fire show are the reason you are going out. On our two evenings, that programme is confirmed on the private booking.
Do not pay it expecting exclusivity at the camp. That is not what the price buys, and we would rather lose the upgrade than let you find that out in the desert.
