Where to Eat in Imlil Before or After a Mount Toubkal Trek

The summit is not the end of the experience. Coming back down to Imlil, the first real meal is part of the trek — here is how to plan it, before and after.
Before the trek: eat for the climb, not the photo
Imlil is where most Toubkal treks begin. The day you walk up towards the refuge is long, so a meal with carbohydrates and protein the evening before and a real breakfast in the morning matter more than anything fancy.
At Restaurant Targa, pasta starts at 30 DH (penne all'arrabbiata) and runs to 60 DH (seafood spaghetti); tagines start at 80 DH for a vegetarian tagine; Harira soup is 10 DH or 20 DH for the Harira Targa. Water is 5 DH for half a litre and 10 DH for a litre — worth buying before you set off.
After the summit: the meal you have been thinking about
Coming back into Imlil, many trekkers want something familiar. The menu has pizza from 30 DH (Margherita, small) to 60 DH (Pizza Targa, large), burgers from 40 DH, tacos from 35 DH and fries at 10 DH.
For a Moroccan meal, the grills (skewers and mixed grill, 90–220 DH depending on portion) and the lamb or goat tagine with vegetables (100–160 DH) are the larger plates. Rabbit and beldi chicken tagines are advance order only, so ask before you leave for the mountain.
Groups coming down together can send a group request in advance. Restaurant Targa takes reservations and group requests on +212 6 86 83 15 58 (call or WhatsApp). The Google listing shows daily opening from 09:00 to 23:30; check before travelling on a holiday.

If you have not chosen your trek yet: the 2-day summit trek is the classic Imlil → refuge → summit → Imlil route; the 3-day Azzaden trek adds a quieter valley. After you come down, the private transfer back to Marrakech is €50 one way.
