This Agafay desert buggy tour from Marrakech offers a direct and active way to experience the stone desert with a relaxing afternoon by a swimming pool. It suits couples, friends and families who want to experience the gravel tracks of the desert before settling down for a proper meal and a swim. You will travel in a small group, with one buggy provided for every two people, allowing you to share the driving and passenger experience.
Your morning begins with a convenient pickup from your hotel or riad in Marrakech at around 09:30, heading south-west to where the desert tracks begin. Upon arrival in the stone desert, you will meet the local team for a safety briefing and a licence check before you take control of the vehicle. You will then enjoy one hour of driving across the gravel plateau, dry riverbeds and desert ridges, with the High Atlas on the horizon.
After your drive, the pace of the day slows down and your traditional Moroccan lunch is served in the desert. You will eat Moroccan salad, chicken and vegetable tagine, and couscous, accompanied by water and warm mint tea. Following lunch, you have full access to a swimming pool to wash off the dust and relax under the sun before your transfer back to your accommodation. Our team speaks English, French, Spanish, Berber and Arabic to assist you throughout.
This small-group experience is straightforward and looks after your transport, safety equipment and dining needs. Drivers must be at least 18 years old with a valid driving licence, while passengers can join the ride from 13 years of age. To prepare for the desert conditions, you should wear closed shoes and clothes you do not mind getting dusty, and bring your swimwear, towel, sunglasses and sunscreen.
