Full description

This is the day for travellers who have already walked the medina and want the opposite: silence, a pool, a long lunch and a horizon. Agafay's camps sit in the stone hills west of Marrakech, and their pools face straight out into the desert with the Atlas beyond.

You are collected in the morning and driven out of the city. From arrival, the day is yours: swim, take a lounger, use the shaded lounge areas, and eat lunch on a terrace over the desert. There is no schedule to keep and no activity you have to join.

Lunch is Moroccan — salads, a tagine or couscous main and mint tea. Tell us about dietary needs when you book and we brief the kitchen; we do not print a fixed menu because camps adjust it by season.

It is a good choice for families with a free day, for groups where half want adventure and half want a lounger, and for anyone whose Marrakech riad has no pool. If you would like to add a camel ride or a buggy hour to the same day, we sell those separately and can attach them to your booking.

Good to know before you book

  • Agafay is stone desert, not dunes, and there is very little natural shade away from the camp.
  • Pool rules, opening hours and towel provision are set by the camp and confirmed for your date when you book.
  • The desert is hot at midday in summer — the shaded areas matter more than you expect.
  • Tell us about dietary requirements in advance so the kitchen can prepare.
