This Agafay desert sunset camel ride dinner and Moroccan show from Marrakech offers a relaxed evening in the stony desert designed specifically for couples and families. You will swap the busy city streets for the calm hills of the Agafay desert during its most peaceful hour. If you want a cultural experience focused on tradition rather than adrenaline-fuelled activities, this small-group excursion is the perfect fit.
Your journey begins with a late afternoon pickup from your hotel or riad in Marrakech, followed by a transfer to our desert camp. On arrival, you are welcomed with traditional mint tea and Moroccan pastries before taking a short walk to a desert viewpoint. As the sun begins to set, you will board a gentle camel caravan led by a local cameleer to travel through the stony Agafay hills. The ride is timed perfectly to watch the sunset over the desert while the distant Atlas Mountains change colour.
After your camel ride, you will return to the camp to experience a traditional Moroccan dinner around low tables and an open fire. You will share a meal of salads, tagine, and couscous, accompanied by fresh mint tea under the stars. The evening features a live Moroccan music and dance show, providing an authentic taste of local culture. Our small-group format ensures a relaxed atmosphere where our guides support you in English, French, or Spanish throughout the five-hour experience.
This cultural excursion requires no previous camel riding experience and is highly suitable for travellers seeking a gentle pace. To ensure your comfort during the camel ride, we recommend wearing long trousers, and bringing a light jacket for when the desert temperature cools after sunset. A camera is also essential to capture the evening light before your round-trip transfer returns you to your Marrakech accommodation.
