This Paradise Valley day trip from Agadir takes you inland from the coast to explore a palm-filled canyon in the western High Atlas mountains. It suits travellers looking to trade the beach for mountain views, natural rock pools, and traditional Berber villages. You will journey from your coastal accommodation into a dramatic landscape shaped by the Tamraght river, where smooth rock ledges and palm groves await.
Your morning begins with a pickup directly from your hotel lobby in Agadir or Taghazout before driving north along the coast. You will stop at a women's cooperative to see how argan nuts are cracked and pressed by hand to make oil. From there, the road climbs further into the mountains, stopping at viewpoints that offer clear vistas over the canyon.
Once you reach Paradise Valley, you will have several hours of free time to walk the canyon path and explore. You can swim in the pools of cold, clear green water if the seasonal water levels allow. During your free time, you can also purchase a tagine lunch to eat on a local terrace situated directly above the valley pools.
All logistics are handled for you, including round-trip transport in an air-conditioned vehicle with an experienced driver. The experience is available in English, French, and Spanish, ensuring clear communication throughout the day. You will receive complimentary bottled water on board, and you can choose between a small group setting or a private option.
This day excursion is scheduled for approximately eight hours, returning you to the coast in the late afternoon. The uneven canyon path requires a basic level of mobility, and shoes with good grip are necessary for walking on the smooth, slippery rocks. Please note that water levels vary by season, meaning the pools may be low after dry summer months.
