This Agadir to Souss-Massa National Park and Tiznit day trip combines the diverse coastal habitats of Morocco with the cultural heritage of a historic walled market town. It is designed for travellers who want to experience both birdwatching in protected wetlands and traditional southern Moroccan craftsmanship. You will travel south from Agadir to explore the dunes, estuaries, and argan steppe of the national park before heading inland to the silver souk of Tiznit.
Your day begins with a hotel pickup at 08:30 as you travel along the Atlantic coastline through rolling argan country. By mid-morning, you will reach the Souss-Massa National Park where the landscape transitions into quiet estuaries, reed beds, and coastal sand dunes. Here, you have dedicated time to walk and look for local wildlife, including the rare northern bald ibis, which makes its home along these shores.
After a break for lunch at a local restaurant near the coast, you will journey inland to the nineteenth-century walled town of Tiznit. You can spend the afternoon exploring the historic ramparts and browsing the traditional silver jewellery in the local souk. Following your time in the market, your driver will guide you back north, returning you to your hotel in the late afternoon.
Every detail of your journey is managed to ensure a smooth travel experience. You will travel in air-conditioned transport with an experienced driver, and bottled water is provided throughout the day. Free pickup and drop-off are available from hotel lobbies in both Agadir and Taghazout. This experience is conducted in English, French, or Spanish, and is available as a small group excursion or a private tour.
The walking inside the national park is flat and easy, though there is very little shade, making comfortable shoes and sun protection essential. You are encouraged to bring your own binoculars for birdwatching, as these are not provided, alongside cash for lunch and shopping. This nature and culture day trip is suitable for all fitness levels and operates year-round, offering a direct way to experience the landscapes and crafts of southern Morocco.
