Private tour — your own vehicle and driver
If you land at Mohammed V airport, the north of Morocco is on your doorstep and the Sahara is not. This itinerary makes the most of that: three imperial or historic cities and the blue mountain town of Chefchaouen, all within comfortable driving distance.
You start along the Atlantic in Rabat, with its kasbah of white and blue lanes above the river mouth, then climb into the Rif to Chefchaouen for an afternoon and evening in the blue medina — the best light is late in the day, which is why we stay the night.
From there the road runs to the Roman city of Volubilis and the imperial gates of Meknes before dropping into Fes. You finish either back in Casablanca or in Fes, whichever suits your onward travel.
Day 1
Casablanca → Rabat → Chefchaouen
Casablanca seafront, then Rabat's kasbah and gardens, and on into the Rif to Chefchaouen for the night.
Day 2
Chefchaouen
Morning free in the blue lanes and the Spanish mosque viewpoint; afternoon at leisure, second night in town.
Day 3
Chefchaouen → Volubilis → Meknes → Fes
Roman Volubilis, the gates and granaries of Meknes, arriving in Fes in the evening.
Day 4
Fes → Casablanca
Morning in the Fes medina, then the drive back to Casablanca, or drop-off in Fes if you continue from there.
