This imperial cities tour from Casablanca offers a comprehensive private journey through Morocco for groups of one to seven travellers. Over eight days, you will travel from the Atlantic coast through historical capitals and the Rif mountains before heading south to the Sahara dunes and finishing in Marrakech. It suits those wanting to experience Rabat, Meknes, Fes, and Marrakech alongside the blue streets of Chefchaouen and the desert landscape without rushing.
Your journey begins with the coastal architecture of Casablanca and the gardens of Rabat, moving on to the Roman ruins of Volubilis and the monumental gates of Meknes. You will have a full free day to explore the ancient medina of Fes, with the option to hire a local guide. From there, you head north into the Rif mountains for an overnight stay in Chefchaouen, allowing you to walk through the blue-painted streets after the day visitors have left.
The route then turns south through the Middle Atlas cedar forests to Midelt, descending into the Ziz palm canyon towards Merzouga. Here, you will take a sunset camel ride into the Erg Chebbi dunes for a night in a Sahara desert camp. Your driver then guides you through the towering cliffs of Todra Gorge, the winding roads of the Dades Valley, and the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou before crossing the Tizi n'Tichka pass to Marrakech.
To ensure your comfort, you travel in a private air-conditioned vehicle with an experienced English-speaking driver, with support available in French, Spanish, German, or Italian. Your package includes accommodation for all seven nights, daily breakfasts, bottled water in the vehicle, and hotel or airport transfers. You can set your own pace during the daily drives, with flexibility to choose which monuments you pay to enter along the route.
Because mornings in the Moroccan mountains and desert nights are cold while afternoons are hot, you should pack clothing layers and comfortable walking shoes. Since monument entrance fees, lunches, dinners, and optional city guides are not included, you can customise your spending on site.
