This is the most efficient way to see Morocco end to end when your flights are into Casablanca and out of Marrakech. Nothing is repeated: you travel north to south in one continuous line and finish in the red city.
The first two days are Atlantic and imperial — Rabat's kasbah, then Fes, where you get a free afternoon and evening in the medina. From Fes the road climbs the Middle Atlas cedar forests, drops through the Ziz Valley palm canyon and reaches Merzouga for a camel ride and a night in the dunes.
The last leg follows the kasbah route west: Todra, Dades, Ouarzazate and Ait Ben Haddou, before the Tizi n'Tichka pass brings you down into Marrakech.

Dune sunrise, then west through Rissani, the Todra Gorge and into the Dades Valley.
