Full description

Marrakech was founded in the eleventh century and rebuilt by four dynasties, each leaving something behind. This half-day is for travellers who want that story told properly rather than a general sightseeing loop.

With a licensed guide you cover the palace quarter and its craftsmanship, the historic madrasa with its carved cedar and stucco, the Saadian legacy, and the ramparts and monumental gates that still mark the edge of the old city.

It fits neatly into a morning or an afternoon, which makes it a good first activity for travellers arriving in Marrakech — you leave with a mental map of the city and a sense of why it looks the way it does.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from the full-day city tour?

This half day concentrates on history and monuments. The full day adds the souks, the artisan quarters, the gardens and Jemaa el-Fnaa.

Roughly how much are the entrance tickets?

Individual monuments in Marrakech are inexpensive, typically a small fixed fee each. Your guide will confirm current prices on the day — we do not quote figures that may have changed.

Is it wheelchair accessible?

Partly. The vehicle sections and some courtyards are accessible; parts of the medina are not. Tell us your needs and we will adapt the route.

Morning or afternoon?

Morning for cooler temperatures and better light in the courtyards.
