The private version of the coast day. Your group has the car and the driver to itself, which means you choose when you leave Marrakech, how long you spend at the argan cooperative, whether you want an early lunch at the harbour or a late one in the medina, and when you drive home.
The argan stop matters here. On the private day we take the time to visit a women's cooperative properly — seeing the nuts cracked and the oil pressed by hand, and understanding the difference between culinary and cosmetic oil — instead of a five-minute stop on a group schedule.
In Essaouira, you decide the shape of the afternoon. Travellers with children usually go to the beach; travellers who came for the town spend the time in the medina's woodworking souks and galleries; photographers head for the ramparts in the late light.
