Full description

This is the green counterpart to the Agafay ride. Instead of bare stone desert you ride in the Atlas foothills, where irrigation channels feed terraced fields and walnut trees and the mountains rise directly above you.

It is a shorter ride — one hour — built into a half day that includes the drive out from Marrakech and a traditional Moroccan lunch afterwards. That makes it a comfortable option for travellers who want mountain scenery and a taste of riding without committing to a full day.

If you would rather ride longer and in open desert, the Agafay horseback experience is the better fit.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from the Agafay ride?

Landscape and length. Agafay is open stone desert with a one- or two-hour ride; this is one hour in the green Atlas foothills with the mountains above you.

Is it suitable for beginners?

Yes. One hour at a walking pace with a calm horse is the standard option; tell us if anyone in the group has never ridden.

Can we combine it with another Atlas activity?

Yes — it works well alongside an Atlas valleys day trip or a cooking class in a village. Ask us and we will build the day.
