This 5-day Sahara and Draa Valley circuit from Marrakech offers a full desert loop designed for travellers who dislike rushed itineraries. It suits photographers looking to capture the changing light at both ends of the day and anyone wanting a deeper exploration of Morocco. By turning the desert journey into a circuit rather than an out-and-back drive, you travel through different scenery in each direction.
Your journey begins by crossing the Atlas Mountains via Tizi n'Tichka to reach Ait Ben Haddou and the Dades Valley on your first day. You then head east to see the Todra Gorge in the morning before enjoying a camel ride at sunset and sleeping in a desert camp in the Erg Chebbi dunes of Merzouga. The loop continues southwest past the market town of Rissani and into the Draa Valley, where you spend a slower day exploring the palm groves, kasbahs, and pottery villages around Zagora and Agdz. Finally, you return over the Tinififft pass to Marrakech.
Throughout this private tour, you travel in your own private air-conditioned vehicle with an experienced driver who speaks English, French, Spanish, German, or Italian. Your driver looks after all fuel, tolls, parking, and road costs, while complimentary bottled water is provided in the vehicle. Free pickup and drop-off are included directly from your Marrakech hotel or riad lobby, ensuring a smooth transition each day. Designed for private groups of one to seven travellers, this itinerary offers shorter driving days than a standard three-day desert tour. You will need to bring comfortable walking shoes for exploring the gorges and palm groves, along with a sun hat, sunglasses, and high-factor sun cream. Because Moroccan mornings and desert nights are cold while afternoons are hot, packing layers and a light desert scarf is highly recommended.

Draa Valley → Zagora → Agdz
