What a Multi-Day Morocco Trek Actually Costs — and Why Group Size Changes It

A trek departure costs roughly the same whether two people walk or eight. That single fact explains almost every price you will see quoted.
The fixed cost problem, in one paragraph
A multi-day trek departure carries costs that do not change with the number of walkers: the certified mountain guide, the cook, the muleteers, the mules and the vehicle from Marrakech. Those are paid per departure, not per person. Accommodation, meals and permits are the part that scales with heads.
Split the fixed part across more people and the per-person price falls. That is not a discount; it is arithmetic, and it is why a serious operator quotes by group size rather than publishing one number.
Our published Central High Atlas rates
M'Goun Summit Trek, six days and five nights: €860 per person for a party of three, €760 for four to seven, €650 for eight to twelve.
Aït Bougmez Happy Valley Trek, four days and three nights: €390 per person for parties of four to twelve.
Toubkal and M'Goun, nine days and eight nights: €1,020 per person for parties of five to seven.
Every one of those is a list price. Booking direct on this site takes exactly 5% off, to the cent — €650 becomes €617.50, €390 becomes €370.50, €1,020 becomes €969.

Why some group sizes are not on that list
Small parties on long itineraries — one or two people on M'Goun, one to three in Aït Bougmez, anything outside five to seven on the nine-day journey — are quoted personally rather than sold at a published rate.
We would rather say that plainly than publish a number we would have to revise once we know your dates. Send us the dates and the group and you get a written per-person price with the full itinerary.
What the price includes
A certified High Atlas mountain guide, muleteers and mules for the main luggage, a cook and all mountain meals, return private transport from Marrakech, and refuge or Berber gîte accommodation as set out in the itinerary.
Not included: personal trekking clothing and boots, sleeping bag rental, travel and mountain insurance, drinks outside meals, and tips for the mountain team.
Judging a quote you have been given elsewhere
Three questions expose most of the difference between two prices. Does it include the return transport from Marrakech, or does the trek start at a road head you have to reach yourself? Is there a cook, or are meals bought along the way? And is the guide a certified mountain guide, or a local companion?
A cheaper number is often a smaller product. Compare the inclusions before you compare the price.

- For the published group sizes, yes — card or PayPal on this site, with the total calculated for your exact party size. Group sizes we price personally are arranged by written quote instead.
- Do children pay the same?
- Tell us the ages with your enquiry. Party composition affects what the itinerary can do, so we handle it in the written quote rather than with a blanket rule.
