This is the two-day version of the village route we already run over four days for families. It exists for the traveller who has one spare night in Morocco, wants to sleep in the mountains rather than drive back to Marrakech, and is not trying to climb anything.
Day one drives up to Imlil, then walks over the Tamatert pass into the next valley, through walnut orchards and terraced hamlets, to a family-run Berber gite for dinner and the night. Day two walks back down through the villages at a slower pace, with lunch on the trail before the drive to Marrakech.
A licensed mountain guide walks with you, mules carry the main bags, and a cook travels with the group, so the meals on the trail are hot Moroccan food. The walking is on graded mule paths, three to five hours a day.

Plan your private tripOur treks and tours are led by a network of over 15 accredited guides who live and work in Morocco, most of them from the valleys around Imlil and Marrakech.
We have our own mountain-equipment rental shop in Imlil, so trekking and mountain gear is available to rent close to the start of many High Atlas routes. Rental is arranged separately and is never automatically included in a tour price.
Mules carry equipment on our High Atlas routes. We treat them as working partners whose care and condition are part of running a mountain trip properly.
We cooperate with SPANA's animal-welfare work in the Imlil area, which supports the working animals of the High Atlas.
