Experience highlights

  • Hands-on from the start — you cook, you do not watch
  • Introduction to Moroccan spices and cooking traditions
  • Moroccan mint tea through the session
  • Sit down together and eat the lunch you helped prepare
  • Daytime timing that leaves your afternoon in Marrakech free

Full description

Learn, cook, eat — in that order, and in one relaxed daytime session. This is not a demonstration you watch from a stool. You handle the ingredients, you build the dish, and the lunch on the table at the end is the one you made.

It starts gently: a welcome, mint tea, and a proper introduction to what is actually in a Moroccan kitchen — which spices go in cold, which go in late, why the vegetables are stacked the way they are. Then you get to work, with a cook beside you correcting the seasoning rather than doing it for you.

Because it finishes at lunch, it slots neatly into a Marrakech day. Morning here, and your afternoon is still free for the medina, a hammam or a rooftop. Travellers who want the same experience as an evening out should look at the evening class and dinner sitting instead.

Itinerary

  1. Welcome

    Arrive and settle in

You are welcomed into the kitchen with mint tea and shown the table you will be working at.

  2. Introduction

    Ingredients and traditions

A walk through the spices, the fresh produce and how a Moroccan dish is actually built — the part most travellers never get told.

  3. Hands-on

    Prepare the dishes

You do the chopping, the mixing and the layering yourself, at your own pace.

  4. Cooking

    Cook with guidance

Your dishes go on to cook while the cook talks you through timing, heat and seasoning.

  5. Tea

    Moroccan tea

Mint tea while the food finishes.

  6. Lunch

    Sit down and eat

Everyone sits down together and eats the lunch the group prepared.

  • Start time is agreed with you when we confirm, because the session is built around the lunch sitting.
