  • Starts in Imlil village — no Marrakech transfer in the price
  • Reach around 2,350 m at Sidi Chamharouch and return the same day
  • Local mountain guide who lives and works in the Mizane valley
  • A realistic test of how you handle altitude before a summit trek

Full description

This is the walk people mean when they say they want to see what the Toubkal route is like without committing to the mountain. From Imlil you follow the Mizane valley on the same trail the summit treks use, climbing steadily past Aroumd and the river bed to the hamlet and shrine of Sidi Chamharouch at roughly 2,350 m, then return to Imlil.

It is a full walking day rather than a stroll: sustained ascent on stony mule paths, high enough to feel the altitude, with the Toubkal massif ahead of you the whole way. No summit, no refuge night, no technical ground.

The price is for travellers who are already in the valley. There is no vehicle in it and no transfer from Marrakech, which is why it costs what it costs.

  • It is a sustained climb on stony mountain paths, not a flat valley walk. Good general fitness is needed; no climbing experience is.
  • In winter the upper section can be snow-covered and your guide will shorten or reroute the day accordingly.
  • Sidi Chamharouch is an active place of pilgrimage for local people. Your guide will explain where visitors may walk and where they may not, and we ask you to follow that without exception.
  • Please ask before photographing people, and never photograph inside the shrine area.
