Can a car actually reach your Imlil hotel or riad?

What catches people out is the last few hundred metres: whether a car reaches the door, or your first evening ends with half an hour uphill carrying a suitcase. Nobody answers that before you arrive. We drive this valley, so we record the answer the only way it can honestly be recorded: from what the property publishes, or from another public source, and as UNKNOWN when neither exists.

How we classify access

• Direct vehicle access — verified. A public source states that a vehicle reaches the property itself.
• Walk-in — verified. A public source states that the last stretch is on foot from a point a vehicle can reach. 9 properties in our list are in this class.
• Special access — verified. The property states an arrangement of its own, such as a mule from its reception. 1 property is in this class.
• UNKNOWN. 42 properties. Nothing public states how close a vehicle gets. We do not turn this into an answer: the exact drop-off is confirmed with you before the transfer runs.

Why most of the valley is still UNKNOWN — and how that changes

For 42 properties there is simply no published statement. We could write a plausible sentence for each of them and nobody would notice for a while; we would rather be the company whose access information can be trusted. Our drivers record what they actually observe after a real transfer — where the vehicle stopped, whether a walk was involved, how luggage was handled, the date and who verified it — and only confirmed, non-subjective observations are added to the record. Nothing on this page comes from a guess.

Planning your arrival in five steps

1. 1. Read your confirmation properly. Note the hamlet, not just "Imlil" — the hamlet guide explains why it matters. Note any sentence about walking, steps, a track or a mule, and whether the property asks for your arrival time; several do, because that is how they send someone down to meet you. Silence does not mean there is no walk; it usually means nobody wrote it down.
2. 2. Know which of the three situations you are in. The vehicle reaches the property; the vehicle reaches a known point and you walk the rest; or nobody has published the answer, which is the case for most properties here. We tell you which applies before you pay, and we do not invent a walking time to fill the silence.
3. 3. Sort out your luggage. Your bags travel with you in the vehicle, which is private to your party. Where a walk finishes the journey, how luggage gets up — sometimes by mule — is arranged between you and the property. Send them one message the week before, especially with hard suitcases.
4. 4. Plan for daylight. If your property involves a walk, arriving in daylight makes a real difference on your first day at altitude. Tell the property the arrival time you have booked with us, so anyone meeting you knows when to be there.
5. 5. Plan the way back down. The return is booked the same way, on the day and time you choose. If there is a walk down to the vehicle, it happens before your pickup time, not after it — build it in, particularly for a flight.

What to tell your driver

• ☐ The hamlet, if your confirmation gives one
• ☐ Anything the property told you about where cars stop
• ☐ Whether someone (or a mule) is meeting you, and at what time
• ☐ Your return date and time, and any flight it has to connect with

That is enough. The exact spelling helps more than a map pin copied from a booking site.

What this means when you book a transfer

We never claim door-to-door service where we cannot demonstrate it. Where the last stretch is walked, you are told before you pay, and the price is unchanged: Marrakech → Imlil €50, Imlil → Marrakech €50, round trip €90 for the vehicle in a Jeep Grand Cherokee, your party only.
