Hotel or Riad to Marrakech Airport: the Departure Transfer
The departure transfer is the same journey in reverse, with one different question: what time do you actually need to leave?
Departure transfer — quick answer
- Pickup: Your hotel, riad or the point a vehicle can reach nearest to it
- Destination: Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK)
- Service: Private vehicle and driver, your party only
- You choose: the pickup time; we also ask for your flight departure time
- Price: Owner-approved fixed price where one exists for the route, otherwise a written quote
- Booking: book your airport transfer
The one decision that matters
On arrival, the uncertainty is in the terminal. On departure, the uncertainty is on the road and in the check-in queue, and you are the one who decides how much margin to leave.
Our finder asks for your flight departure time and, separately, the pickup time you want. Choose the pickup time deliberately: your airline's check-in and bag-drop closing times, not the take-off time, are what you are really travelling against. If you tell us the flight time and are not sure what pickup time to pick, ask in the request and we will discuss it rather than silently choosing for you.
Medina pickups
If you are staying inside the medina, the departure has the same access reality as the arrival: the vehicle waits at the closest point it can legally and physically reach, and you walk to it with your bags. We confirm that point in writing before you pay — see reaching a riad inside the walls.
Agreeing the meeting point the night before, with your riad, is worth five minutes of your time.
Coming down from the mountains to a flight
If your last night is in the Atlas rather than in Marrakech, the departure is a longer drive and the margin question is bigger. Imlil to the airport runs in both directions — see the Imlil transfer guide — and it is worth telling us the flight time when you request it so we can be honest about whether the plan is comfortable.
Luggage and extra stops
Luggage travels with you. If you want to stop on the way — to collect something, or to drop a member of your party elsewhere — ask in the request. A short stop can usually be arranged; a journey built around stops is a private tour rather than a transfer, and we will tell you which one you actually want.
Price and booking
Departure routes are priced per vehicle, exactly like arrivals. Where the owner has approved a fixed price for the route the finder shows it and you can book and pay; where no approved price exists you get a written quote. We publish no fare the owner has not approved.

Frequently asked questions
- What time should the driver collect us?
- You choose the pickup time, and we also ask for your flight departure time. Check-in and bag-drop closing times, not take-off, are what you are travelling against — ask us in the request if you want to agree a time together.
- Where does the driver wait for a medina riad?
- At the closest point a vehicle can reach, confirmed with you in writing before you pay. Agreeing that meeting point with your riad the night before makes the morning easier.
- Can we stop on the way to the airport?
- Ask us. A short stop can usually be arranged; a journey built around stops is a private tour rather than a transfer.
- Is the departure price the same as the arrival price?
- The price depends on the route and is per vehicle. The finder shows the owner-approved price where one exists for that route and direction, and a written quote where it does not.
